These kitties have forever impacted my life as well as their new families. On May 11 2025, mother’s day, me and my mom drove to pick up the kittens who had been hiding around an old car in someone’s yard. Once we had all the kittens and their beautiful mom loaded up into the car we drove home and settled them in. They all weighed less then two pounds but their eyes were opened so that cued us in on their ages. It was crucial that we let the sweet kitties rest especially the mom cat, Willow, who was not feral but was very shy to begin with. The shelter nearest to us would not take the kittens in until they were older and by the time they would take in the group of six we had become to attached to let them go to the shelter. My mission was set, find a loving home for each kitten and their mom. After countless vet visits for each cat we were able to confirm that they each were as healthy as cats can be. We were able to begin searching for their forever homes. Some of the kittens immediately had great soon to be owners waiting until they were ready to be separated from their mom while others still hadn’t been given a good a home. Finally the week comes when the kittens get to go live with their new found families. Ivy is adopted by one of our friend’s friends, two of the kitties, Oliver and Poppy went to live with our neighbors, the mom, willow, was adopted by our neighbors friend and Bingly went to a close friend of our’s and then only truffle was left. We, despite how much we wanted to, we couldn’t keep this sweet baby but our neighbors had fallen in love with truffle as much as much as we had. In the end our neighbors kept there of the six cats. Rescuing animals is one of the kindest things a person can do. Even though it brings lots of joy and happiness it also can bring forth many challenges and I am so grateful to all the people who have helped me and family save these precious cats.
